Harsh and rugged nature, terrifying mountains, a lonely weather station, a TV tower with a hotline to Moscow during the Cold War, abandoned military barracks in 2400 m (7875 feet). These are the sceneries on this real ATV / quad bike trail across the Balkan Mountains in Bulgaria. The ATVs are in their proper element, and meet new challenges in different terrains. It is exploration and experiences in some of the most breathtaking landscapes in Bulgaria. The trail is leading to ancient villages and lonely mountain huts passing through ancient forests, fields and meadows, along worn tracks and trackless passes putting technique and driver to the test. It goes over dramatic mountain passes bringing us back to the old Romans and ancient Thracians. The ultimate ATV / quad bike trail, where everything is in safe hands and you just have to enjoy the adventures.

Day-by-day program

Saturday Arrival in Sofia Airport. Transfer, accommodation and welcome dinner
Sunday After breakfast we start the introduction to ATVs, all terrain driving, safety and security rules. We start on the training track and then we take a ride into the terrain and testing ATVs. After lunch we drive on the top of the Sredna Gora mountains to Bratan.
Monday We leave the Sredna Gora mountains and drive north through The Valley and Roses up in the Balkan Mountains. We drive into the National Park on an old gravel road, which still functions as a bridge between south and north, but hardly used. Overnight at the top.
Tuesday We eat breakfast and drive east to Mt. Triglav, where there is an abandoned military station. We follow the old military track to the top Golyam Kademliya (2275m) one of the three peaks that make up the characteristic peak Triglav (the name means three peaks). The other two peaks are Malak Kademliya (2226m) and Pirgos (2195m). The area has several beautiful waterfalls and magnificent views. After lunch we leave the top and drive downhill to the village of Apriltsi.
Wednesday In the morning we drive to one of the most beautiful peaks in the area and in the afternoon we ride upward in the Balkan Mountains.
Thursday After breakfast we head towards Mt Botev (2376m), which is the highest peak in the Balkan Mountains. On the top are a metrological station (the one we refer to when you need to check the weather) and a TV tower from the mid-sixties. We eat lunch on top and then we drive to the foot of the mountains, where we stay overnight in an old monastery.
Friday We drive to Svezhen for lunch. And if you still have petrol in your blood we take a ride to the lake Dondukovo for some relaxing fishing.
